New Look, New Name

October 2, 2011 By Jenna 7 Comments

Hello Loyal Readers! Welcome to the new look!
As you can see, Mom of Many Hats is now (and forever) renamed Call Her Happy. You can access my blog at the same address, or my new address, callherhappy.com. And, where did the name come from? Proverbs 31:10-31. More specifically, verse 28:

“Her children rise up and call her happy;
her husband too, and he praises her:
‘Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.'”

This verse is a constant reminder of who I want to be for my family. So, when something comes in the way, I have the Word of God to remind me of my purpose.

There will be more minor changes coming soon, but as far as the usability of the site and the layout, this is it! A big thank you to our friend, Ed. He came all the way out to see us and redesign my blog. He was happy to be paid in pizza monkey bread, beer, brownies and football. I was happy to provide! Thank you, Ed! You’re a star!
So, now that you have seen the site, how about a tour?
1. You’ll notice there are 5 tabs at the top: Home (icon), Start Here, Contact, Following and Store. These are all the same as my previous design, but feel free to check them out regularly for changes and updates.
2. There is a new, more convenient search bar in the top right portion of the page.
3. If you haven’t already, take a look down the right side of my blog. You can receive FREE updates via RSS, Google Reader or email! Sign up and never miss a post.
4. There is also a Popular Posts and Blog Archive section where you can browse other content on my blog. This can be found along the right side as well.
5. If you click on my homepage (the little home icon on the top left), you’ll notice there are 7 posts on that page. These are the 7 most recent posts. They are shortened, and to read them, just click “Continue Reading.”
6. When you click on a post to read, posting a comment is easier than ever. Just go to the bottom of the post and click “Add Comment.” You can also easily read others’ comments from here, too.
7. Finally, down at the very bottom of the blog, I have added social media buttons. Now you can “Like” me on Facebook or share a post on your wall, add my posts to Google or Google +, Follow me on Twitter or tweet my posts or click “Share” for other ways to share my content.

For you visual learners:

So, I hope you like the changes. Take a look around and explore. Let me know what you think in the comment section below. Tell me what works and what needs work. As always, thanks for reading!

Wow! I LOVE this!!!! Did you just use a general blogger template, and then customize it?!

Thank you! I used a template and then a friend helped me tweak it. I’m still coding a bit, but for the most part, this is it!
