Helping Iraqi Christians

It seems that when tragedy like the impending genocide in Iraq strikes and I am pregnant, I shut myself out to the destruction in the name of overactive hormones. I can’t find it in me to read about horrific happenings when I am already in an emotional state.

BUT, it doesn’t mean I am totally unaware, and it doesn’t mean that I don’t care. I just have to be careful about what I read and who I get my information from. I try hard to keep away from the sensationalism and only search for the facts.

That is not easy my friends, and please do not email me looking for advice. For you shall only find a clueless pregnant momma who is muddling through this worse than you are.

I have, however, come across a few resources that are useful for those of us who feel like we need to DO something outside of fervent prayer. I love to pray, but I also like to act when I can. Check these out:

Donate funds to help the Catholic Near East Welfare Association.

Support families of fallen Israeli soldiers.

And 5 things you can do right now.

Also, as lame as it may feel, blog about it. Post to Facebook. Use social media. Why not?
