Granny Panties

September 4, 2014 By Jenna 53 Comments

I am many dazzzzze away from the joyful experience of birth (no joke; I hate being pregnant so birth is bomb), which means I am far from the humbling experience of the hospital granny panty. Ooh and the diaper pads. Somehow you are able to simultaneously feel geriatric and neonate all at the same time. I’m certain this is what they mean by the circle of life – or something like that.
And, if the granny panties aren’t enough, picture this: I’m sitting at home with my newborn with toddlettes in bed, and what do I do to relax? Embroider. But I can’t help it. It relaxes me. I get to be creative. It’s comforting especially in times when I feel like a total schlub. So, just hand me my laxative now, and let me know when my favorite re-run is on next. I wouldn’t want to miss my programs.
I guess postpartum (and, let’s be honest, each time of the month when I’m actually NOT pregnant) makes me want to curl up on the couch and wear the comfiest duds I can land. I’m talking hole-acious sweats, a slubby v-neck, no bra and a cozy blanket. Wait, no blanket; I’m hot. Hold on, I’m cold again. It’s a recipe for frump.
 .
So, I’m calling for an overhaul. This time around I need to change something so I can start feeling like I am actually still in my 20s and not born in them. And don’t worry, the sweats aren’t going anywhere. First order of business? Stayfree® pads. Those hospital diapers only last so long until you need to take matters into your own hands. Why not feel more normal, comfortable and protected with Stayfree® pads? Nothing reminds me more that I am postpartum than a saggy diaper under my sweats. Stayfree® pads fixes that right up.
 .
Second on my list? Contemporary embroidery. I think y’all know my mission is to bring the craft to the masses, and I want to do it in an updated way. And seriously, what better to embroider when you’re postpartum or living with Aunt Flo than something like this? I mean, come on. Tell me you don’t love this:

Ha! But good pads really do make ALL THE DIFFERENCE. And a nice, long, hot shower!! And I love the embroidery pattern. Obvi not granny panties.. They’re mom panties – duh!

Bwahahaha! Wearing your own pads makes such a huge difference in how you feel post-partum! Not a lot of pampering going on ’round these parts, but I used to love getting the occasional facial at a local day spa. :)

I pamper myself by taking care of my nails – I am usually taking on the phone or watching TV at the time, and I take off any polish that is on them, and then I groom my cuticles, file and shape my nails, and then if I want to put on a new color I do that (base coat, 2 coats of color, top coat, and drying drops). It’s a necessary task, but also relaxing. :-)

Thanks so much for having this giveaway! Keeping my fingers crossed! :-)

Hehe! I like you have a good sense of humor about disliking pregnancy! I enjoyed mine but one pregnancy sucked the life right out of me!
I recently stopped breastfeeding and that time of the month is hitting me hard! I am using it as an excuse to lounge around on the couch!! There is my pampering…being lazy for a day or two!
