7QT: go to the computer and type in the www

We got to see Meg this week. She was speaking at my parents’ parish, so we drove out to say hello. I know Meg is an awesome blogger, and she is a wonderful houseguest, but I had never heard her give a speech until this week. Gurl has energy and words of truth. The Holy Spirit floweth through her.

For the record, Meg was on a tickling mission.

Meg’s talk was a great kick-starter for Lent. It got me all fired up and ready to grow. And then Ash Wednesday came and I fell apart. Man, one day into Lent and I failed. BUT, I’m trying to think about it differently. It’s not so much about my success as it is about recognizing that I am human and I neeeeeeeed Jesus. I can’t go 24 hours without giving in to temptation; Jesus did 40 days. I suppose I might want to ask for His help.

Unrelated: We keep it cultured up in here.

Conversation overheard at the gym on Wednesday:

Lady 1: :::randomly walks up to Lady 2::: Do you watch videos on the computer?
Lady 2: Um, yes, like movies? The disc you put in the computer?
Lady 1: No. ON the computer.
Lady 2: Um, like Youtube?
Lady 1: No. No no no. No, I mean on the www. You need to type www.
Lady 2: Um, no, I guess not.
Lady 1: Well, you go to the computer and type in the www. And then you type in (insert long, memorized website). And, there you will find dog training videos!
Lady 2: Oh. Wow.
Lady 1: :::walks away:::

I’ve got some ideas for a stitch-a-long coming. It’s a design I know you’ve seen before, but I love it so much, and I really want to stitch it, so we’re all going to deal with it. And, more than likely, instead of doing a monthly stitch-a-long, I will do a seasonal one. As much as I love embroidery, I know that I wouldn’t be able to keep that pace with two kids who eat dirt and poop their pants on the daily.

I’ve got quite a few little necklaces stitched up and waiting to be assembled. In the mix: kitty ears, a spider, initials, rosary necklaces, gold weave designs, plaid, trees, hearts, and tons of things to come. If you’ve got any ideas or something you’d like to see in my maybe Etsy shop, lemmeno.

As soon as I get my mini hoops in the mail, I can start putting them together and listing them in the shop.

Speaking of Etsy, if you’re into plaid and bows like this gal, enter to win one of 11 prizes from Designed by Chloe.

Thanks for the shout out, friend! I love that picture–the girls are laughing and loving on each other and Sam is just keeping his distance.

Ooooo! I very much want to be a part of this stitch-a-long! I wonder if my fingers will remember how to thread a needle. Looking forward to it!
