So, we have arrived in our apartment in Minnesota. We spent two days driving out here from Michigan, stayed in lots of hotels, ate at plenty of restaurants, survived food poisoning, watched the movers haul all of our stuff stuff stuff, and put everything back together. Here are just a few pictures from our adventure so far:
This trooper survived 12 hours in the car. What a gal!
My dad never. stopped. working. the entire time he was out here. Here he is threatening us because we are super lazy. Then again, Richard Simmons is lazy compared to my dad.
Our apartment is considerably more 80s than our previous ones, but the area we are living in makes up for it :)

Ellen is enjoying a little more space to play.
It was certainly an adventure traveling with an almost 7 month old baby. We are so thankful that my parents were able to come along for the ride and offer baby sitting services. We really had to twist their arms to do it…yeah right.
I don’t think our adventure is over yet either. I was pretty sad to leave my friends, family and life back at home. But, Mike and I decided that this year was going to be a real growing experience for us as individuals, as a married couple and as parents.
Being by family has always been a safety net for me. My life has changed very little over the years as far as my comfort zone. This year, Mike and I will have to rely on each other and ourselves instead of other people. We will have to make decisions on our own instead of the constant and readily available (and invited and uninvited!) input of others.
We’re going to make mistakes. We’re going to get frustrated. We’re going to learn.
This is exciting stuff, people!
