{Giveaway} Turn Your Child’s Drawing into a Toy

Ellen received a doll based on her own ideas and coloring in exchange for her mom doing all of the work of writing the review. Opinions are all my own; color choices, artistic liberties and lack of work ethic is all Ellen.

Remember that pin on Pinterest a while back where you could turn your kid’s artwork into a real toy? You could send it in to this lady, and she would sew up a plush version? And then you would click on the link excited to make magic happen, and the lady would email you that she was overwhelmed with requests and couldn’t process your order. And then you were sad.

Remember that?

Don’t be sad anymore. Cryoow is here to turn your children’s bizarre artwork into real, live toys. It’s not as creepy as it sounds. In fact, it is pretty cool.

I was hesitant to do this review at first since Ellen is incapable of drawing anything resembling anything at this point. But, Waly from Cryoo assured me that this would be a fun opportunity to create something special together.

So, Ellen and I set out with coloring instruments in hand, and we created a dolly (her choice) to her liking. She told me specifically what colors she wanted and in what order she wanted them. She wanted stripes and brown hair. She also wanted blue bows and red hearts in the doll’s hair, and she wanted a purple kitty on the doll’s outfit. Classic.

So, I printed a doll template off the Internets and got to work on her requests. She scribbled along with me, and we had a good time.

I don’t think she fully realized what was going to happen with her drawing until about two weeks later when it arrived.

I reminded her of the drawing we made, then I showed her the doll. She was so incredibly interested in how she turned her doll into a “real dolly!” It was, well, pretty cute. She has shown everyone the drawing and the doll that she brought to life.

A huge thank you to Waly and the creators at Cryoow for creating an original toy that my daughter totally brings to bed with her (the highest toy accolade). Cryoow was fast, receptive, friendly and great quality.

  40. this is a really cute idea, Jenna! maybe someday I’ll have to opportunity to use it. Just wanted to mention my version of “recycling” that I did when Joe was a little guy and came home with drawings and then schoolwork everyday. The drawings I sometimes used to wrap birthday presents in..people thought that was quite creative! Then, to friends in different cities or those we don’t see as often as we’d like, I would buy a big pack of manila envelopes, fill them with 10-12 sheets of joe’s schoolwork, some drawings and put a little note in there that I hoped they had a much pleasure and fun looking through some of the things Joe was working on in school. It (at that time) only cost me about 1.00 or 1.50 to send each package. I of course also told our family and friends that they could throw it away when they were tired of looking at it, but it really made the day of many of our friends and relatives that were far away and didn’t see the day to day developments….
