I was going to write this whole What I Did on My Blogging Break post for you, but I thought I would try to salvage the few of y’all who’ve stuck around since my abrupt hiatus. Instead, I will tl;dr it for you even though there was nothing to r so it couldn’t have been tl.
- I’m, like, 16ish weeks pregs with this kid.
- Sam had salmonella poisoning, and I got to chat for a nice many moons with CDC about not eating raw chicken or licking turtles.
- Ellen is potty trained which means she is currently pooping in the corner because that be the curse of speaking it aloud.
- I did NOT end up going to Edel. I stayed true to my blogging break to the extreme.
- I’ve been trying to add a healthy dose of daily prayer to my life to help with my anxiety. Daily Mass a couple times a week is included -with both children- by myself.
- Signed Ellen up for preschool one day a week. We’re doing Catechesis of the Good Shepard. Signed her up WELL past the deadline, so still crossing our fingers we’re in. Pretty sure that is just the kind of mom I am.
- Mike and I blew through Entourage which we loved. I did like the finale, but I thought it was a bit rushed.
- We finished the backyard, ate s’mores, went to parades, finger painted, lazed around, and played.
- I learned that my stress level is in direct correlation with the amount of time I spend online.
- I also learned that I compare myself to others online WAY more than I ever thought I did.
- But, I’m back. Slow ride. Take it easy.
Just like always, link ’em up. Don’t leave me in the dark. Either link up a tl;dr or a post of yours that I should have read this summer.

Still here! I started praying the rosary every night back in June and it’s made an incredible difference in my prayer life. And I’m trying to pray a decade of the rosary with my kids every morning before school starts. I admire you for going to Daily Mass. Glad to have you back!
I have been thinking about you. I went to a retreat a week ago where my small group shared what makes our lives abundant and then what destroys our abundance. This was on the heels of being shamed on Facebook for donating to St Jude instead of supporting ALS ( even though I said nothing bad about ALS). I decided what destroys my full life is technology and peoples’ opinion of me. I deleted some apps, including Facebook and I feel so much better.
Jenna, my friend! Much love to you. I have also had experience with the CDC/Health Department…we had Hep A in the house last summer. Such fun. :rollseyes
And I’m with you about the online anxiety…me and FB are taking some space from each other for that reason. Shoot me an email sometime if you want to chat and not compare. ;)
I’ve had the honor to be by your side during the height of your anxiety. The difference is incredible. You are doing so well. God has great plans for you. He’s got your back and so do I.
Like water. xo
I’m here! You’ve been in my thoughts and prayers every time I’ve thought of you! I haven’t been great with keeping up with blogs this past month+ but I’ve checked in every once in awhile. Continued prayers and so glad you’re back! Also, I’m that mom too. There’s a homeschooling hybrid we want to get into for next year and it’d be best for me to turn in some paperwork to get on the list as early as possible….it is currently saved on my computer. lol Turning things in early makes me anxious. I think. lol Anyways. Yay you and your loveliness!
Glad to see you post, Jenna. I love technology but I need to be more in the moment. I had deleted FB from my phone recently but reinstalled when I was out of town over the weekend so I could post for my family. Also, I subscribe to way too many blogs that I can’t possibly keep up with and end up deleting lots of them without reading so yeah, does a whole lotta good subscribing in the first place. I need to hit the unsubscribe button on some of them. (not yours :))
Praying for you, Jenna. Enjoy your sweet family and thanks for keeping us up to date.
I’m glad you had a good summer and that you’re back! Props to you for going to daily Mass, I know it’s not easy!
I found your blog through my sister. I am looking forward to reading some past point. First time linking up.
I’m really glad you took time off, although I am even more glad to see you back. Just take it easy and pull back whenever you need to. :-)
Sounds like a perfect break, sweet friend. I’m so glad it was eye opening and filled with immense grace :) You’re brave.
