The Only Green Smoothie Recipe You’ll Ever Need

April 20, 2012 By Jenna 2 Comments

Have you jumped on the green smoothie train yet? That doesn’t sound right…Have you tried a green smoothie yet? I had to give it a go because I am always looking for more ways to add veggies into my diet. Fruits are no problem, but I usually only get veggies at dinner time (Or when I am driving around trying to get Ellen to sleep and I get a medium fry. That counts, right?)

Anyway, I came up with my own little recipe, and I am telling you, it is the only one you will ever need. It is the perfect amount of tasty, sweet, icy, easy and, of course, green!
Ingredients:
2-3 Lightly Speckled Bananas
12 oz Bag of Frozen Mangoes
3 Large Handfuls of Fresh Spinach
A Bit of Water
Optional: Fiber Powder
Place all of the ingredients in your blender, and run until smooth. I keep adding little pours of water as the mixture needs it so the blender doesn’t freeze up. Just add enough to keep things moving. This will make about four small glasses of smoothie or just drink all of it like I do because it’s healthy and I’m a pig.
When I am feeling less piggish, I use sandwich bags to freeze portions of the smoothie. Then I take one out of the freezer when I get up and either a) let it thaw and drink it in which case it is a little less icy or b) pop it back in the blender while still frozen.

Do you have a great green smoothie recipe? Let me know in the comment section below!
