I think all children grow up in a world very different than the one their parents grew up in. Ellen will never know the feeling that we all felt on 9-11 (at least I pray she won’t). She will read about it. She will hear all of us old people talking about it. But, I wonder what kind of meaning it will hold for her. One thing is for sure: I want to teach her to pray for the world she lives in. I want her to know that nothing is guaranteed, but prayer sure helps — no matter the outcome.
This September 11, I am blogging over at CatholicMom.com. Today’s topic? Why your children should be at the pole on September 26th. Teach them to pray for our world.
