Before we start this madness, an interview with Lindsay, the author:
Who are your cookbooks intended for?
The meal planners are intended for any busy cook. I have retired people that buy the Meal Planner for 2 or college kids. Then of course the family meal planners go out to families are over the United States and other countries.

Where did your inspiration for this project come from?
This business happened purely by accident or fate. My family decided in September of 2006 that we would make each other’s Christmas gifts. We drew names and I picked my oldest sister’s name. She is a mom of four children and at that time they were 2, 6, 8 and 11 years old. I was a daycare provider at the time and she would always call me asking what I was cooking for dinner. Then she would ask me what sides I was serving. That is where the idea was born. I decided I would put together a menu for her for a couple of months. After I had collected all the recipes, I decided that I would just go ahead and make a whole year worth of menus. She was very busy and I knew that a crock pot meal each week would really help her out, so I decided to make sure I included that in the menu plan. I also knew that she would go to the grocery store without a list and then would have to go back to the grocery store 4 more times that week to get all her ingredients. I knew it would really help out to make the weekly grocery lists for her. I was so excited about my meal planner that I completed it in October. I decided to email my friends and let them know what I had done and see if any of them were interested in purchasing one. My friends forwarded it on to their friends and I sold 50 that first day. My Family Meal Planner was born! (I did have to give my sister her Christmas gift early so that she did not find out from others.)

What is in the works for your business?
My Family Meal Planner is going mobile! I should be releasing the My Family Meal Planner Light on the Android Market this week. It has the entire book on the app and a grocery list. The grocery list is what I am so excited about. You can cross off what you already have or what you just put in your shopping cart and you can also add items to it. It will be so handy to always have your grocery list on your phone. If you need more paper towels, just add it to the list and you won’t forget. (An iPhone app will come later.)
Excited yet? I know I am. Now, to enter, leave a comment in the comment section below telling me why this cookbook would be useful to you. I will randomly select a winner and announce that person’s name on Friday. Best of luck, and happy meal planning!

well with my ever growing family I need to add some organization to my life!! not only will it help me plan my meals and not stress over what to make every night but it’s going to help me budget…super important!!
Ahh, well I work full-time, and feed a 10 month old and a husband who thinks he needs a homecooked meal every night! I could totally use this!
This would end the super fun conversation of “What do you want to have for dinner?” “I don’t know, what do you want to have?” 15 minutes later we call for chinese. Not good on my budget or my waistline.
What an awesome idea! Pick me! Pick me!
Gosh this would be great for me! Feeding a family of 5 is getting boring! I need new recipes and ideas! Thanks!
Now that I’ve had to go back in to the full-time working world, there never seems to be enough time to plan, shop for and prepare meals! I’m hoping this awesome planner can help my family get back on track and eating healthy again!! Can you say “desperate”?
Well, I couldn’t wait to win so I just bought one. If I do win, I will give it away as a gift! What a gift it would be!
now that we are retired we are busier then ever ! drivng and picking up grandkids from school, going to hockey , soccer , gymnastics games and or practices, helping out with the newest grandbaby, volunteering at church, going to the gym, plus fitting in scrapbooking and our friends. we lso love ti cook meals and take them to our kids to help cut stess for them. i could use a little meal time help !!
My name is Maria Komasara and I would really appreciate this meal planner! After 20+ years of marriage my meal ideas are getting very stale…my kids want family meals, but I am tired of cooking the same old thing every week…it would be nice to have it all planned in one place!
This would be great for my husband who has started doing the majority of the grocery shopping!!!
we are always running, running, running, and cooking time is short, as is shopping time. Teenager and high school sports, leave little time for idea creativity, so i would love a little inspiration, to make family meal time fun!@
Something that tells me what to cook!? LOVE IT! This simplifies life after work.. and the time in trying to think of what to make :)
As a full-time working mom, that travels for work & has a 4th grader and 1st grader that are in gymnastics, tball, girl scouts and boy scouts – I need this !!! My family is tired of the same old, quick & easy dinner basics. I think we single handedly, keep brailla pasta, shake & bake and kraft mac & cheese in business !! Help us !!!
I have an idea: Move closer, and then we can share it! You know what I love about Lindsay’s business – that she created it out of neccesity. Seriously, it only takes one idea to create something that not only makes money, but changes the way we look at things. I’m seriously intrigued. If I could create something like this, I could stay home with my little peanut, and then I wouldn’t have to worry about even being busy and creating meals sometime between getting home from work, cuddling, rice, bath, pajamas, bottle, cleaning up from dinner and then lesson planning. I’d like to be the person that has that idea…not the one wishing it were easier. :( Sorry, I had a bad day. Maybe I should blog too. Good luck all…someone post the crock pot ones…those are hard to find that don’t require me to do a lot of extra work….
I like the idea of having a whole year of menus! I’m always trying to figure out what to make – new ideas. This sounds very cool and if I ever get an iphone, I could get the future app. :) Nice job!
What a great idea…It sure takes the stress out of what to make for dinner when we all have busy schedules.
This would make my busy life so much easier..planner and a list! Priceless!

This is something I need because sometimes I don’t put an effort on cooking our meal.Simply, because I don’t know what to cook, with this planner I can avoid serving same menu everyday to my family.

I love to cook for my family and we’ve always talked about creating something like this so we know who’s cooking what and on what night of the week! This is a way to stay organized and to stay involved. This is an awesome idea!

With three kids organization is one of my weaknesses. This would help me get out of the drive-through and into the kitchen
