In a Charitable Mood? Love to Purge? Have Purses?

Sure. Always. Too many.

My mom works at a home for homeless pregnant women (Mary’s Mantle in Southfield, MI), and they are having their annual True Beauty Breakfast and fundraiser in May. I got to meet Leah Darrow there a couple of years back. Catholic Woop. This year, they are collecting purses and bags to resell for $5 each at the breakfast. All proceeds go toward costs of the home.

Just in case you are cleaning out your closet and looking to get rid of some old purses and bags (because you have a redic habit of buying them all the time like me), you can mail them to (or drop them off at) our local Catholic book store where they are collecting them:

They also always accept used baby and maternity items you might not need anymore. Any extra items donated that the women can’t use go to their Mary’s Mantle Boutique (that my handy dad helped build!) where the general public can purchase the items for a free will donation. All proceeds from the boutique also go to the cost of the home.

And, if you’re feeling really charitable, don’t clean that purse out too much. I’m sure they wouldn’t be mad if you accidentally left a little cash in there. Amiright?

Bottom Line: It’s a beautiful thing, people.
