At a therapist appointment a few weeks ago, I was asked, “In what ways is your anxiety a positive thing?” What a weird question.
What was even weirder was that I couldn’t stop listing reasons.

It is no coincidence that I found this article. I’ve been praying on how to embrace my anxiety instead of trying to ignore it or numb myself. Of course, it’s nice to know that others are going through it but I’ve always wondered how do everyone cope with it and wish that people have shared their strategies so this is very helpful. So far, whatever happens – at work or at home, I stop myself and say to God “We got this” and let my feelings settle down. Thank you for sharing.
I have been battling with anxiety attacks for the past month, and the toughest part is that I do not know how to explain it to my fiance and help him understand my condition. He is a natural-born optimist; he was born and raised in a happy, healthy family; never had he suffered from tragic life events while growing up. I see it is impossible for him to be in my shoes, but I just wish he would empathize with me at times.
Your blog really helped me to regain my poise in a stressful situation. Any recommendation on articles or writings of your own for me to share with my fiance? He is still learning about my anxiety and has a hard time getting a grasp on it.
Thanks!
