Fitness Playing Cards: Strength Stack 52

June 19, 2013 By Jenna 6 Comments

Ok, this is a good one.

I was really excited to review Strength Stack 52 Fitness Cards (yes, I got a free pack for review) because not only do they look interesting (fitness playing cards? hmm), but I am too postpartum to use them right now. So, you get to watch Mike use them. Hardy Har, good sport.

A Little About Them

The 52 card pack was designed by Sgt. Mike Volkin to help his mother (aww) get fit anywhere and everywhere while she was battling ovarian cancer. Each card features an exercise with description and illustration, a link to a video tutorial if you need it, the muscle group targeted and the intensity level. Then, you use the cards to play various types of games that either you can make up, or you can find tons of ideas here.

Watch Mike Sweat

So, we went to the website to find a game, and Mike picked Memeroids because, well, it’s called Memeroids. Here is the visual:

“Can we get this over with so I can eat s’mores?”

“This is humiliating. I hate exercise. Why would I want someone to take pictures of me doing it?”

“That’s not good form. I look weak.”

“You owe me big time for this.”

What We Thought

Pros:
It’s a great way to mix up your routine.
They are creative; we’ve never seen anything like this before.
It’s a great way to keep motivated in a group.
They are very portable for vacation.
There is no crazy equipment required.

Cons:
We wish there was a more regimented program instead of playing games each time.
It would be more fun with more people.

Get Your Own

So, you want some, right? Ok. Click on over to Strength Stack 52’s site, and you can find tons more info and buy your own. Go on. Be your own Jillian Michaels.

Visiting from Bloggy Moms. They sure like a great way for those who aren’t into weekly workouts to get in a quick exercise the fun way.
