This month is easily the most eventful as far as Ellen achievements go. Until now, Ellen was kind of chuggin’ along at a steady learning pace, but this past month, she’s unreal. She is a totally different kid. So, here is Ellen’s month in pictures!
Ellen is crawling now. Yay!? She is really good at it which is really relaxing for me. Our day kind of looks like this now: Ellen wakes up and starts crawling. She knocks over the cds, pulls the paper off my computer table, pulls all the laundry out of the baskets, pulls the books off the shelf, tries to get into my purse, and then restarts the process after I clean it up. Why do I clean it up, you ask? Well, it is so much better than other things she could be getting into. I like to call these things, “safe mess zones” or “decoys.” As long as she is into that stuff, she is away from the trash, my makeup and other things that require calling the OxiClean help desk or poison control. Ellen also loves when I chase her around the apartment. She looks back and giggles while I try to catch her. Here is Ellen looking out the window at the kids playing. Don’t worry, I take her outside too. Sometimes.
Caught on camera! Pulling herself up to stand…and using her powers for evil.
Yup. There is a shopping cart in my apartment. It’s actually a pretty boring story that doesn’t involve any criminal activity. Our apartment provides them for us for our convenience. Sorry to bore you.
Look! Here is Ellen outside! It’s her first trip to the park.
A little girl talk on an impromptu picnic
Ellen loves to eat
Crackios Cheerios, pretend to drink my water and say, “Ahhh!” and eat anything else she can find like cheese or leftover food on the ground. Speaking of her mouth (Did you like that segue-way?) Ellen also is talking this month! Woo hoo! It’s so cute, guys. She says hi, mama, dada, duck, go green, roar, meow, hiss (snake sound complete with hand motion), and ball. She waves hi and bye and knows the sign for more. Yup, this chatty gal talks all day long. Seriously, all day. She loves to give random objects the business.
Ellen loves to watch me get ready. She likes when I “put makeup on her.” She sits there while I tap the mascara on her face (Closed, of course. I’m still waiting for my audition tape for Toddlers and Tiaras to go through.) I don’t mind it too much because I get the royal treatment from her.
And here are some pictures of Ellen being straight up cute. And, that is Ellen at ten months. I am going to go take a rest because you know this girl is wearing me out.
Oh look! You can kind of see her teeth in this one! Ok. I’m done now.
