Dove-ly

September 4, 2012 By Jenna Leave a Comment

My hair has always been one of my favorite physical attributes – not in a conceited way, but just in a loving myself for who I am kind of way. After having Ellen, my locks took a WWF beat-down. It was horrible. All of my blonde faded into a dirty, mousy color. My hair turned to legit waxy straw. I couldn’t get a comb through it everrrrrrr. And, like most postpartum ladies, it was all.falling.out.
If you’ve ever had a baby, you might understand this feeling: I just wanted my body back. I just wanted to feel myself again…hair included. So, over the next few months I awarded myself (women should really get awards for giving birth) a haircut, clarifying treatment, and highlights. (There’s nothing you can do about your hair falling out…just let it fly, gals.)
So, since then, I have been obsessed with hair products. I never needed them before Ellen, but now? Now I do. I guess she was worth it.
Considering my new found love for dry shampoo, texturizing spray, beach spray, Pinterest hair-dos, wide tooth combs, shower caps and anything else that you can apply to locks, I was really excited when Dove asked me to try their new Nourishing Oil Care Conditioner.
It was the perfect thing for my dry summer- chlorine, processed hair. It’s got all kinds of sciencey-stuff in it. You know the ol’ fiber active technology and Patented Micromoisture Serum…naturally. Let’s get five senses about it.
It smelled like bubble gum bubble bath/Bath & Body Works Country Apple. It wasn’t a strong smell so don’t let my accurate description sway you one way or the other. It looks thick and creamy and it feels that way too. It sounded swishy and gloopy when I lathered it on…just like conditioner should, right? And as far as taste, well, I didn’t taste it. That would just be ridiculous…
It promised smooth, soft, shiny, frizz controlled hair without greasiness. So, after I tried it I felt all:
So, I would say it is a win for this girl. And, per usual, you know I’m doing a contest. Check out this link where you can answer this question and leave your info to be entered to win the $1,000 Spafinder gift card:
