If you don’t regularly attend Mass with a toddler, then you probably have a fantastic spiritual life. You probably arrive to church on time or even early. You get to listen to the readings and homily. You don’t just spout out responses from rote memory instead of a place of true spiritual understanding. You get to attend Mass without carrying Cheerios, an extra diaper and some sort of book about Jesus that you hope is interesting enough to keep someone’s attention for an hour.
So, how do I make the most out of Mass with a toddler? I don’t take her.
I kid. I kid. Seriously, what do I do? Check out my latest at CatholicMom.com to find out.

Your right on! I get the most out of mass without my 2 year old or when my husband is tending to her and I have the other 3 :).
We actually got to go to Mass by ourselves on Sat. night because Ellen went with my parents on Sunday. I was even able to laugh at the priest’s jokes that I always miss!
So true! I love the days my parish has a Children’s Liturgy. My, now, 5 year old goes by herself; enjoys her craft and special prayer time and I get to listen to gospel and enjoy the true meaning of the homily!
Sometimes you just need to go to Mass on your own to rejuvenate, ya know?
