7QT: One great way to organically gain more followers on Instagram

We did our gender reveal on Sunday. Bob Wehaddababyitsaboy. Anyway, Ellen was POSITIVE that it was a girl and her name would be Marigold. When we cut into the cake and saw blue, well:

One great way to organically gain more followers on Instagram is to use your hashtags. First, use popular hashtags that fit your niche and your photo. Second, click on those hashtags and explore other users’ photos. Like 50 or so photos a day, and you should slowly see a return on followers.

I’m not the only bard in this neck of the Internet. Check out some gems that I didn’t Mark as Read before even getting to. In fact, I saved them to savor later. So, are they good? I don’t know. Let’s find out together:

Just watched your reveal video – congratulations on a baby boy!!! Poor little Ellen… My heart broke a little for her as I watched her burst into tears.

I still have very vivid memories of when my youngest brother (of three!!) came home from the hospital. It was my 8th birthday – he was born the day before my birthday – and my dad told me, “you have a new baby brother! Isn’t that a wonderful birthday present?” I was crushed. There were many, many tears shed as I was certain that I would finally get the baby sister that I’d always wanted.

The good news is that I immediately fell in love with that sweet baby brother anyway and we were very close as kids. I’m certain your sweetie will do the same! xoxo

    P. S. I mentioned your blog in a blog post yesterday. I loved your post about spiritual bouquets and incorporated the idea into teaching my kids the rosary. :)

you are so mean, with the having a boy. Gosh.
my husband is a hashtag king, and it makes me giggle all the time.
also, my boys hate pants. Which is a problem because I am not the ‘take off your diaper and roam free’ type.

    That is all

Awwwww, congratulations on your reveal! That video is too cute for words–I hope your daughter has eased into the idea of being a big sis to a brother :) Love how you made this announcement to your friends/family.

I have to get better about hashtagging on Instagram. I like to throw in a few, but they tend to be the same hashtags or really obscure ones that sound right at the time. Thanks for the tip!

    Awww poor Ellen :(

I know people that will add a ton of hashtags like a few hours/days later in the comments so it doesn’t look like you’re spamming instagram in your original post with a million hashtags.

Thanks for sharing that video, Jenna. Congratulations to your family! How exciting. And oh, your poor little sweetheart. I know she must be a good big sister! Those two little boys are lucky to have her.

I’ll say a prayer for you with your anxiety this pregnancy. My emotions have been running high lately, too. Oh, pregnancy hormones…they are really something!
