I waffle all the time about if I want to start taking blogging more seriously. Really it’s me wondering if blogging is taking away from being with my kids.
I stay at home with them, so they see me an awful lot. And, my new goal is to use the time my mom is here on Mondays to lock myself in my room and get all of my blogging work done for the week.
So, I mean, there are plenty of moms who work out of the home (and in the home) each day, and they are able to make it work with families. I don’t see why picking one day a week to work on this little passion project is any different.
Am I convincing you or me? Or does convincing even need to be done? I don’t know. What are your thoughts on this?
I care enough to make sure you don’t miss out on anything I posted earlier this week. Obviously you have a good excuse for why you didn’t read. I forgive you. And I update you:

Figure out which social media site drives the most traffic for you, and then focus your efforts there. Take a look at your referring URLs. This will tell you which sites where people find your posts. Chances are it will be Bloglovin’, Facebook or Pinterest, but you never know. Check them out and then start putting more time into those venues.
I’m not the only bard in this neck of the Internet. Check out some gems that I didn’t Mark as Read before even getting to. In fact, I saved them to savor later. So, are they good? I don’t know. Let’s find out together:

Oh man, I’m struggling with all things blogging this week too. I wish I could make a little money with it (doesn’t any SAHM?) but I struggle with what I’d have to change to do so. I’m also thinking I need to make a specific time to blog/work on Big White Farmhouse, so it’s set in the calendar and not just something I randomly do when I have a free minute. Maybe I should look into a mother’s helper?

I hear ya on the working from home. I literally JUST put in my two weeks for my work-from-home job. It was taking away from my family too much. However, in the past, God gave me the grace to keep working and that was great. But it that season is over for right now. If you feel God calling you to keep on blogging (which it is kind of a ministry, you know?), then by all means take Monday’s to do it. For right now, I try to focus on working on my blog only during nap times so that my kids don’t see me glued to a screen all the time. But it’s all about balance and trying to find it. I’d say try it out, if it doesn’t work you can always stop :-)
That’s a great blawg tip! I get most my traffic from Pinterest and about 0-0.5% from Facebook. Maybe I should stop wasting so much time over there! What are your best Pinterest tips? I’m attending a webinar tomorrow so I’ll let you know if I learn anything! <3 Good luck on your blog discernment. My vote, if it counts, is to stick around! :-D
I am very much struggling with whether or not to push the gas pedal on blogging. It varies daily. One of those times I’d really like for God to leave me instructions on my bedside table each morning. A girl can dream!
