7QT: A History

You mean, you don’t sit around on a Wednesday night thinking things like, “I wonder what the very first 7 Quick Takes looked like. Imma Google that ish.”? If this does not please you, please move on to greater things.

And, to please my mom, here are some Call Her Happy things to check out:

  • Join the tl;dr linkup and cure the guilt associated with #feedbankruptcy forever.
  • Visit my Etsy shop; I’m hoping to add new designs soon.
  • Follow me on Instagram if you need to know what I am doing.right.this.second.

The very first 7 Quick Takes can be found here. They started October 2, 2008 which was a Thursday. A Thursday! This is crazy, I know.

My very first 7QT is here. This was back in the day where I used to woo you with every single mundane event in muh life. Seriously hardcore mommy blogger.to.a.fault. Also, let’s laugh at how I was all, “I’m going to put better photography on my site for y’all!”

Hey! Here’s a screenshot:

The first time Jen opened up 7QT to her minions (what? I’m one too.) was November 7, 2008. She used Mr. Linky. Who is he?

-4-

The hashtag #7QT was invented by #cathsorority and other Catholic bloggers on Twitter.

-5-

The very first link to join #7QT was from Kelly the Kitchen Kop. And she is still blogging! Find the rest of the first linkers here.

-6-

The #7QT logo has always been the yellow post-it note.

I have seriously got to be the only person who finds this remotely interesting. But there was so much blood and puke and crying this week. Seriously though, it is interesting. It’s like a history lesson for bloggers.

Jen, on a scale from 1-Busey, how weird is this? I’m crossing my fingers for a 3.

I’m pretty sure when Jen announced the #7QT hashtag in the 7QT post she linked to my blog and I kind of geeked out a bit (okay a lot).

I think we would get along awesomely in real life as a few years ago when I first found this link-up I totally went through a majority of the 7QT post archives to see when they started and how they became a popular link-up. I recently did the same on the Liebster Award.

Wow, I was the first to link up on 7QT, really? That’s so fun, I really love Jen and she’s a friend after all these years. :)

That was very pleasing to me. I love when I’m reading your blog and I suddenly see those 2 words. “My mom”. Heart song. You’ll get that someday. xo
