I’ve always been intrigued by the idea of moms donating breast milk to other moms in need. It’s kinda incredible that there are women out there who are willing to take time to pump for another woman and her baby. I also think it is incredible that some moms put themselves out there and ask for a bit of help in the mammary department.
Where am I going with this?
I was asked by someone the other day if I would help boost her stash, and I jumped at the chance. All those years of lugging around extra boobage has finally come in handy – I have way more milk than we need in these parts.
So, best suggestions for upping my supply? Oatmeal, check. Mother’s Milk Tea, check. Others?
I originally started blogging to keep track of my kids and their milestones. Then, it just grew into pestering you all week. Let’s take it back since I swore that I would stay up on my kids’ baby books, and la tee da, guess who lied to herself?
Sam started saying “mumma” and “dadada” this past month. It’s completely normal and expected, but to his own mother, it is beyond adorable and worthy of praise.
He also gives kisses now. If you kiss him on the lips, he will return the favor by open mouth slobbering all over your lips a few seconds later. Gross and again, beyond adorable.
Devoted mother out.
My 10 year class reunion is coming up (Has it been that long? Wow, that was fast! I can’t believe it’s been 10 years! Stop me.), and suddenly I have been transformed back into my high school overachieving involved to the walls self. So, here I am planning the shindig.
I’m thinking I will pick a date, tell people to show up somewhere and pay for themselves, and then let the chips fall where they may. It seems I have changed a bit.
Part of my super awesome gym-spa is a personal trainer and fitness plan. I get to meet a couple of times and come up with the best plan for my fitness goals. I used to do marathon training, free weight lifting, and leg exercises before I got out of bed (just the leg exercises, not the rest. Sing it: misplaced modifiersssss).
So, my goal is to feel energized and strong. Nothing Arnold. Here’s my plan if you want to join me:
Cardio 5x/week for 20-30 min and
Strength Training 3x/week:
- Planks (3 sets at 30 seconds each)
- Good Mornings with a Kettleball (3 sets of 6-8)
- Stir the Pot (3 sets at 30 seconds each; don’t forget to do both sides)
- Assisted Chin Ups (3 sets of 6-8)
- Elevated Bar Pushups (3 sets of 6-8)
- Rowing Machine (3 sets of 6-8)
- Leg Press (3 sets of 6-8)
Opine on the following best selling authors (and the like): James Patterson, Nora Roberts, Debbie Macomber, John Grisham, Mary Higgins Clark, Tom Clancy, etc.
Have you ever read any of their books? I have not, but they fascinate me. People seem to eat them up, and they are found in droves at your nearest garage sale.
What is it with these authors? Are they worth giving a go? Would you rec any of their books? Which ones?
Ellen: Can we call Mima?
Me: No, She’s at work.
Ellen: Where’s daddy?
Me: At work.
Ellen: Where do you work?
Me: Here. I take care of you guys.
Ellen: :::laughs::: You don’t take care of us; Mima does.
Ha. Tell that joke again next time your diaper explodes on your favorite Minnie doll. I dare you.
I mentioned that I am venturing into the world of miniature embroidery hoops (so!tiny!). I need your thoughts though. Sorry for the crap-o-rific photo. It’s late and I’m not betting on the sun being out for a nice’un tomorrow. So, flash away:
How should I finish the back? Leave it as wood even though some of the fabric might poke through try as I might to trim it? Or use a bit of felt to cover it up? Or something totally different?
