Ellen started school again on Monday. This year she is in the one-year-old room. I am so glad we put her there; the baby room is all infants, and Ellen likes to roll with an older crowd. This room is bigger, has big kid toys, has a snack table and a separate parents’ area. In the baby room, we just sat with the kids while class went on. Now, we go into the parent room and have discussions while the kids learn in the kid area.
They leave the door open for the class so kids can see their parents. Ellen came to visit us about 50 times to bring us toys. She must have thought we all looked bored in there without fake vacuums, puppy books and matchbox cars.
Right before her first day:

Now that Fall is here, we are back to all of our normal activities: school, moms group, gym class, library, and we even tested out a music class. Ellen loved it, but I think with all of our other activities, I don’t want to over-schedule her or put a huge dent in our wallet.
But then I think, she is so musical that I should help her foster that quality. Meh. My brother bought her a toy piano, so we should be good, right?
And, seeing that we are back into activity-ish stuff, we are also back into the land of runny noses and sneezy-coughs. Poor Ellen.

This blew my mind the other day. Is that how I am supposed to eat it? Is that how the package is designed? Have I been doing it wrong this WHOLE TIME??? Clearly, I’m shaken.

Did you enter my Lisa Chan giveaway yet? It’s low entry right now, and you could win a copy of Lisa Chan’s new film, “Be Still”. It is an amazing video, and you would be missing out if you never saw it. Yeah, I said it.

I have to tell you something that I haven’t told you yet. I am redesigning my blog. The wonderful and talented Lauren from Santa Clara Designs in switching me over to WordPress and giving me a new look. We (ahem, she) is still working on it, but I hope it will be up and running soon so you can take a look. And, um, please follow me over there? Would you? I’ll give you the deets when I have them. I love putting my heart into this here blog, and I would be really heartbroken if I lost any of you. Sniff. Sniff.
Ellen was talking in her sleep the other night. It was adorbs. Wanna know what she kept saying over and over? “Daddy. Puppies. Boobies.” I see where I stand.
Mike and I are going on date nights all weekend. Mima is in town again, and she is a little obsessed with my progeny. Luckily, Mima is not sick of reading the farm book, singing the bumble bee song or playing “Where is Ellen?” so they are having a repetitive blast. Repetitive blast. Repetitive blast.

I bet Mima is having way more fun than Ellen. I hope Mima doesn’t catch the sniffles!
There’s a Band-In-The-Box wooden musical set for toddlers that is cheaper than music classes and still awesome. My guy got it for his 1st birthday and plays with all the different instruments almost daily!
I love doing the 7 Quick Takes, however, it’s been a few weeks! Following your blog from @ Home Take 2!
