Here are 5 things I am currently enjoying. And by enjoying I just mean that I am admiring them from afar because Ellen is a big beast lately. Terrible Twos, anyone?
In no particular order, of course…
My Daily Catholic Bible
I am trying to read the Bible this year. Go, Jenna, Go! A little more on that next week. But for now, that is all.
My New Haircut

Disclaimer: I like the way I look (in a non-vain kind of way). I just mean I am happy with myself. But, I will be the first to admit that I am NOT photogenic. Pretty and photogenic are not synonymous.
I was feeling a lot like a scraggly scrag these past few months. I can’t get my hair cut anywhere else aside from Fantastic Sams because it is the only place open late enough that I can go after Mike gets off work. My mom treated me to a big girl haircut and color on Monday. I am much more pleasing to look at.
Tuna with Avocado
Out of sheer boredom (and also weird OCD tendencies), I cleaned out my parents’ fridge and pantry. I threw out so much expired food. Tisk Tisk. Anyway, I’ve been trying to cook with what they have, and I made a tuna sandwich with mashed avocado in place of mayo. A little SPG (salt, pepper, garlic, duh) and some mustard for mine. The best.
Sanders Hot Fudge
I mentioned some things I was excited for in MI. I forgot this one. Oops. Also, the best.
JC Penny Stretch Pants
Get the wide band ankle length and thank me.
Linking up with Hallie today. Moxie.

I have been having mad cravings for tuna and guacamole (separately) during this last trimester of pregnancy. I never thought to combine them, though! I am totally trying this!
Thanks for linking up, pretty lady! xoxox
Thanks for hosting! You always have the best ideas!
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrl. We had salmon cakes with sliced avocado and mostly people were passing out from yumminess overload. IT IS SO GOOD!
Your big girl hair cut is fantabulous. Mamas make it all better :)
Your kids are good eaters! Most kids don’t do the slimy green stuff. And don’t moms make things better? Love moms!
Tuna is my favorite! But I’m allergic to avacado, so it’s mayo for me.
P.S. You are pretty AND photogenic :)
Nothing wrong with mayo. It’s delish! And thank you ;)
I can’t believe I never thought to combine tuna and avocado! So smart!
And oh so yummy. Guilt free!
Love your hair! And I can’t think of anything avocado doesn’t improve.
You must be beyond stunning in real life, b/c you are so pretty in that pic!
Hey, speaking of that, it improves hair too! And thank you :)
hahaha no joke I am OCD over expiration dates too! James would alwys laugh at me because his Mom would know when I was at the house……suddenly the fridge was a lot more empty!
I like to know that I can eat everything in the house and I don’t have to be scared of botulism or something crazy! Ya know?
Ooh, I love the tuna and avocado idea! I have both on hand, so we’ll be trying that on Friday. We have the same Bible. I was going to read it this year too, but I failed. My husband is keeping up on it though. I’m looking forward to hearing what you have to say about it!
I hope you like it too! Also, I’ll say a prayer that you keep up the readings this year!
Oooooh, tuna and avacado… decadent abstinence! Yes, last Friday I made grilled salmon and sauteed asparagus and garlic. So much suffering… You’re hair is lovely!! Nothing like a good haircut to cheer a girl up!
I know. I mean, we can technically eat lobster and caviar too! Sacrifice what? And thank you. Nails and hair are always good for a smile ;)
I have that Daily Catholic Bible too, it really helped encourage me to get back into Scripture…and Sander’s Hot Fudge, where do I begin. That stuff is so good; heck sometimes I eat it straight outta the jar!
That jar may or may not have lasted one day. Oops.
Love, love, love your humor and your haircut! I’m always afraid to get my hair cut. (I’m some old lady loser when it comes to hair styles.) And I can totally relate about the pretty but not photogenic (though I think that pic isn’t at all bad!). People only THINK I take great pics. Little do they know that the true beauty of digital cameras is that taking one hundred shots and only having one turn out well means the end of expensive rolls of dorktastic horribleness.
Won an Outback gift certificate and guess when they had on the appetizer menu? Crab and Avocado. Awesomeness ensued. I can’t imagine that it wouldn’t have been just as good with tuna.
FYI: It doesn’t stop at two. I’m helping my twenty-year-old daughter type her midterm papers. Tears are so typically on the ready to spill over the horizon that I’ve started to believe they are the sign of a breakthrough. Once the crying begins, the paper is nearly over!
Gotta love digi cameras. Seriously, my hubs gets so mad when I ask him to keep taking my picture while I ever so slightly change my lips and eyes. Something has to work!
And, I’m glad you loved the crab/avocado. That sounds amazing.
Best of luck to you and your daughter. Ugh. I am so glad that part of my life is over…and then I chose writing as a career. Go figure…
